• Students who are not enrolled in one of our tutoring programmes, but who want advice and feedback on their work, can use the ‘ten-hours pass’. Students can buy one pass per academic year.
  • At an IB school’s request we can mark the various components of an IB Dutch A SSST student’s work. We are also able to advise on the list of literary works to choose from.
  • Dutch or Flemish IB teachers can contact IBID with their questions about IB Dutch education. We have an agreement with Stichting NOB (the Foundation for Dutch Education Abroad) regarding the support for teachers working at schools affiliated with NOB.

In 1999 Betty obtained a secondary teaching qualification for Dutch from the Faculty of Education in Amsterdam, specialising in Dutch as a Second Language. She taught Dutch at various schools in Turkey, Japan, China, The Netherlands and Singapore. Betty founded the Stichting Nederlands Onderwijs (Dutch Education Foundation) in Istanbul and professionalised the curriculum. She was examiner for the CNaVT-exam in several countries. As from August 2016, Betty works at the International School of the Hague as IB-Dutch teacher in the MYP-programme.

Sjolanda studied Dutch (secondary teaching qualification) and History at the teacher-training institute in Zwolle. She then went on to study International Relations at the American University in Washington D.C. and she taught Dutch at the University of Maryland. In Rotterdam she worked as a teacher and programme developer of Dutch as a Second Language for higher-educated students. She gained experience in tutoring other-language and multilingual students. Sjolanda taught Dutch at the International School of Zug and at the Inter Community School of Zurich, where she developed the MYP- and Dutch SSST programmes.

Suzanne van der Schot

Suzanne van der Schot

Teacher SSST

Studied Dutch Language and Literature at the University of Amsterdam with Historical Literature as her main subject. After her Master’s degree she acquired an upper secondary Teaching Qualification. Suzanne worked for over ten years as a Dutch teacher and coordinator of language policy at various secondary schools in Amsterdam. She went on to become an IB Dutch teacher at Frankfurt International School. Between 2014 and 2019 Suzanne worked in Dubai and Doha teaching IB English and as coordinator of the IBDP self-taught programme. Since August 2019 she works as an IB English teacher at Hangzhou International School in China.
