Hanneke holds a degree in Dutch Linguistics from the University of Groningen where she also completed an upper secondary teaching qualification. She worked as an IB teacher and year tutor at the International School in Haren (Groningen) until moving to the UK in 1996. She then worked as an IB Dutch A teacher at the American Community School in Cobham and later as teacher of Dutch in Aberdeen. For the last 20 years Hanneke has been the principal examiner for IGCSE, GCSE and A-level Dutch exams. She also helps students in their preparation for the Leuven CNaVT exam.
Teacher pre-IBDP & SSST
Annelies holds a Master’s degree Dutch at Leiden University and an upper secondary teaching qualification. She majored in historical linguistics and dialectology, and completed the minors Second Language Acquisition and Children’s Literature. She worked as a Dutch teacher for over twenty years at various international schools in Germany and Switzerland. Here she gained extensive experience in tutoring IB students and developing the curriculum for the pre-IBDP and IBDP programmes. As of March 2018, Annelies works as IB Dutch teacher at Amsterdam International Community School.
Josephine studied Dutch Language and Literature at Leiden University, has a Master’s degree in mediaeval studies and an upper secondary teaching qualification. She worked as a teacher in the Dutch secondary curriculum until 1997, when she switched over to the IB-educational system. She founded IBID in 2000. Josephine is IBDP workshop leader for ‘IB Language A: Literature’ and a counsellor for IB Dutch teachers abroad. In spring 2017 she had a temporarily contract for some months as IB Dutch teacher at UWCSEA Singapore, her former employer. Subsequently she took up a part time position as IB Dutch teacher at AICS (Amsterdam International Community School) as per September 2017.
